Mark Andrew Sambles was born on Boxing Day 19522 in Bridport, Dorset. on Boxing Day in 1952.
Mark was killed when HMS Glamorgan was hit by an Exocet missile on 8 June 1982.
In 2022 as part of the Falkland Islands 40th Anniversary Place names Project Mark was honoured with Sambles Bay, a bay between Phillips Point and Rookery Bay near Stanley, East Falkland.
